We left Dublin for the first time since we arrived. It was just a day trip to Glendalough in County Wicklow. We walked through ruins of a monastery dating to the 10th and 12 th century. St Kevin's cross is said to be from the 9th century. The # 7 is prevalent here..7 steps through the arches, 7 churches on the property, and it is said that the round tower will fall 7 days before the end of the world. It was a truly beautiful place to visit. We also visited Dublin castle and got some great picture there as well.

ReplyDeleteAmazing pictures Erin.....you are so lucky!! (luck of the Irish??) I love the stonework in the buildings.....keep you eye out for the treasure of the Knights Templar! You know....the Holy Grail, the Ark of the Covenant. Also, if the Tower falls while you're there....give us a heads up!! Miss you, love you!! xoxo be safe!
